We run an appointments system for routine and urgent surgeries throughout the week as well as Nurse appointments. Appointments can be made in advance except those with the Duty Doctor who is available each morning and evening only for patients who require an urgent consultation that same day. We do not hold surgeries at weekends or Public Holidays.

Appointments can be booked between the hours of 08.30am – 1.00pm and 2.00pm – 6.30pm Monday to Friday.

Please avoid telephoning for non-urgent appointments before 10.00am when the phone lines are extremely busy.

A routine appointment is 10 minutes, however if you feel you may need more time then please ask the Receptionist for a double appointment. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer your cancelled appointment to another patient.

Your Doctor or Nurse may be able to receive phone calls from you outside consulting hours either after morning surgery around 12.30pm or just before evening surgery around 4.00pm. You may be asked to telephone again or give the Receptionist your name and telephone number for the Doctor to contact you when he/she is free. In addition, please let the Receptionist know whether you are seeking advice, a special appointment or a possible home visit etc, to assist the Doctor who may require your medical records.

If you require an urgent consultation, then please be prepared to give the Receptionist some idea of the nature of your problem as she may consider it necessary to transfer your call to your own Doctor, the Duty Doctor or the Practice Manager for immediate attention.

If your illness makes it impossible for you to attend the Surgery and you require a home visit within normal Practice hours, then please telephone before 11.00am to help the Doctors plan their visits after morning Surgery. Home visits are usually between 1.00pm and 4.00pm. If you request an urgent home visit, a Doctor will be contacted immediately. The Receptionist will require some information about your condition, your address and telephone number to give to the Doctor. Remember, home visits can place a considerable burden on the Doctor's time and therefore, please make every effort to attend the Surgery.

Once you have given us your mobile number a reminder via text will automatically be sent to you to remind you of any appointments you make.
